| Brief Introduction to Hainan Women’s Philharmonic Chorus |
| Established on May 4th, 1996, Hainan Women’s Philharmonic Chorus (Philharmonic for short) is a social art organization, officially approved by Hainan Culture and Sports Department and managed by Hainan International Culture Communication Center. And it includes “Philharmonic Chorus” Troupe One, Troupe Two and Troupe Three (Mixed Sound Choir) and the newly joined Children’s Chorus with approximately 500 members, and the number of students trained has exceeded one thousand. |
| The tenet of Philharmonic is to “create spiritual works with great quality” under the guidance of “the policy of letting a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools contend”. Philharmonic will be devoted to the construction of spiritual civilization of great special zone with elegant and exquisite musical works and choir art, getting popular in China even in the whole world. Cultivate and edify women in the great special zone to foster Hainan Image and make contribution to advanced culture construction in the great special zone. |
| For more than a decade, “Philharmonic” has enjoyed great reputation with the support of leaders at various levels, all circles and the masses: It has been awarded as “Advanced Unit for Spiritual Civilization”, Advanced Group of Hainan Woman Workers and won prizes repeatedly; it has been reported specially by media at home and abroad as well as in Hainan, and has been invited to perform abroad. “Philharmonic” is praised as “Miss Red in the New Age”, “The Most Twinkling Pearl by the South Sea” and so on by personages of all circles. |
| For more than a decade, HWPC has been fostered into a black horse in Choir Circle in China and the bellwether of Choir Cause in Hainan Province via of its extremely high thought and business purpose (to be a great woman and to achieve world-class chorus standard), rigorous management, harsh training (learn from the best conductors and vocalists in China including Hu Defeng, Caoding, Chen Guoquan, Xie Yisheng, Wang Jun, Yang Hongnian, Zuo Wenlong and so on) and strong feelings. |
| HWPC enjoys a reputation for its not caring about payment but selfless devotion. For more than a decade, it has participated in 11 competitions at home and abroad, winning 3 gold medals and 7 silver medals. And it has attended more than one hundred large performances at home and abroad on behalf of Hainan Province in succession. In addition, it has attended performances for free of charge. |
| What’s more, HWPC, for more than a decade, has attended countless large scale welfare events including Large Scale Performance titled as Nine Songs of Hainan Island for the 10th Anniversary of the Province, Celebration for Hong Kong’s Return to China, Boao Forum, Olympic Ignition, Shanghai Expo, Flood Relief, Donation to Wenchuan Earthquake, and Coconut Festivals, Hainan Carnival and New Year Concert…. |

| For more than a decade, HWPC has performance more than a hundred classical performances of China and foreign countries including Blue Danube, Snowflake, Rainbow after the Rain, Lady Meng Jiang, Heavy Raindrops, Voicing, Miss Red, Eternal Invitation and so on. |
| Just as A saying goes “music carries theory”, the singing voice of Philharmonic displays a truth which has been increasingly confirmed by human beings: human beings pursue more than materials; there is something in humanity more valuable than benefits, when everyone enables art to achieve a unified entity and flawless realm through the temperament of self-sacrifice, restraint, tolerance and comprehension, he will experience ineffable sweetness and irreplaceable harmony, and he will feel deeply that life is art in essence. |
